Illustration

My illustration practice explores the intersection of mythology, symbolism, and sequential narrative, centring on an ongoing project to reinterpret the tarot. Working primarily in multiple layers of watercolour, I use the visual language of linocutting, folk ornamentation and esoteric imagery to construct allegorical images with archetypal figures and mythic motifs. Alongside this work, I create comic strips that distil domestic ritual, humour, and emotional interiority into quiet, sequential moments. Across both formats, I am interested in how repetition, symmetry and framing shape narrative and how illustration can serve as a tool for both divination and reflection. My tarot series in particular seeks to restore the illustrative tradition of the tarot to its storytelling roots while reconfiguring its archetypes through contemporary feminist thought.
