My grandmother, Lillian Wonders and her letterpress The Wonder Press

My grandmother Lillian Wonders ran an independent letterpress - The Wonder Press - out of her garage in Victoria, B.C. Canada. The 1980 Chandler & Price letterpress and her dozens of drawers of typeface are now housed in the University of Victoria Special Collections & Archives.

My letterpress practice is informed by intergenerational female knowledge-sharing and continuing the legacy of my grandmother’s love of printing. I owe my interest in publishing, printing and design to our afternoons spent in her garage printing on business cards and napkins.
